Taryn Akiyama is passionate about the intersection of investment, policy, and global affairs in enhancing collaboration and scaling impact for climate change and clean energy. At Hua Nani Partners, she is Director of the State Funding Readiness Project, delivering pro bono technical assistance to help states leverage federal investment opportunities to reduce emissions and advance equity. Formerly, Taryn has held positions at Climate Finance Advisors, member of WSP, tackling how to finance adaptation and resilience; the World Resources Institute and Ceres, mainstreaming climate-related financial risks; and the California Governor’s Office of Planning and Research under Governors Brown and Newsom, specializing in global climate policy and wildfire costs and recovery. She is the Board Treasurer at Our Climate, empowering youth to advocate for equitable climate justice policies. She holds a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment (YSE) and a certificate in Sustainability and Climate Risk from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP)
