Redefining Resilience: ISC’s 2020 Annual Report

Though 2020 is in the rearview mirror, it was an inflection point for many around the world. Amidst unprecedented challenges, we at the Institute for Sustainable Communities doubled down on our mission, listening and responding to community needs and co-creating climate solutions that centered on equity.

Among the many projects we undertook last year, our annual report highlights ISC’s work at the intersection of climate, health, and equity and work promoting water stewardship and sustainable livelihoods in farming communities in India. We also look back at progress we’ve made on our organizational equity journey over the last four years.

On all of these fronts, there is still much work to be done. But ISC’s long history of tackling inequities through community-led transformation prepared us well for this moment. We define resilience not as “bouncing back,” but “bouncing forward,” and we can’t wait to explore what lies ahead.

Thank you for journeying alongside us toward a better future, shaped and shared by all.
