Karina French is a Program Officer for ISC’s U.S. Program. In this role, she works to build community resilience, regional collaboration, and equitable climate planning in Phoenix-Maricopa County and Southeast Florida. She provides program support and conducts research for both the Advancing Community Resilience Partnership: Maricopa County and the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Compact.
Karina has strong experience in developing local food systems, waste reduction, and community organizing around sustainability initiatives. Prior to ISC, she was at Green Mountain Farm-to-School, where she coordinated the Farm-to-School program, as well as the FarmCorps program, working with schools and farms to increase the local food supply in schools and further food education efforts. She was a research assistant for the University of Maryland in Croatia, as well as an intern focusing on zero waste for Pick-Up America.
Karina earned a B.S. in Geography – Society and Sustainability and a B.A. in English from the University of Maryland.
