Senior Advisor to the President
Devon Trotter is Senior Advisor to the President. In this role, Devon is responsible for enabling the success and effectiveness of the Executive Office. Collaborating with the President and management team, Devon helps determine and prioritize business and communications strategies for the President and organization. Devon assists the President with managing directives and integration of cross-organizational work streams, provides advice and organizational perspectives, and assists the President with relationship management, culture building, and overall organizational change, including leading the organization’s internal equity and inclusion initiatives.
Devon began his career in finance and operations at global software giant SAP while living in Prague, Czechia. After three years, Devon returned to the U.S., settling in Washington, D.C., where he continued his career in finance and operations. Devon supported the missions of several organizations, from international public health firm John Snow, Inc., to gay rights advocacy nonprofit Human Rights Campaign and higher education policy group Institute for Higher Education Policy. Acting upon his interests in ecological issues, Devon joined the Pew Charitable Trusts to work on shark conservation. While there, Devon’s eyes were opened to the need of embedding equity in the environmental and conservation discourse. His experience sparked his coaching journey, leading him to his most recent position at National Audubon Society, where he served as Senior Specialist – Equity Diversity and Inclusion.
Devon earned a Professional Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University and holds a B.A. in International Relations from The College of William and Mary in Virginia. He also received his International Coaching Federation certification through training from Coactive Training Institute.
