Allyson Wilson is ISC’s Global Director of Communications. She oversees all program communications and is responsible for development and implementation of the organization’s comprehensive, integrated, strategic communications program. Prior to joining ISC, Allyson was director of digital strategy and content marketing for the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC). In that role Allyson led the development and implementation of integrated, strategic communications plans supporting the U.S. plastics industry’s work to combat ocean plastic, grow plastics recycling, and increase packaging sustainability. She worked with plastic industries around the globe as Communications Task Force Chair of the Global Plastics Alliance (GPA). In that role she led communications strategy for the coalition of industry associations as they worked to develop and implement community led, equity centered ocean plastic prevention programs. Prior to the ACC, Allyson was Deputy Communications Director for Terry McAuliffe for Governor of Virginia, and spent 10 years as TV news reporter. Allyson holds a BA in Mass Media and Public Relations from the University of North Carolina and Charlotte and is currently completing her Master’s in Sustainability from Harvard University. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband, three kids and dog, Bella Marie.
